HP Q6001A
The HP Color LaserJet 2600n printer is a laser jet printer that can be used in the home or in a small office. This printer only weighs 40 pounds and has handgrips located on the bottom of the printer, making this an easy piece of office furniture to move around to find a perfect place to suit all. The size of the printer is 16W x 18D x 15H inches allowing it to fit easily in either home or small office. Power supply to the printer is through either Ethernet Cable or USB. It uses HP color laser cartridges.
Located in the top-right corner of the printer is a two line LCD control panel with a scroll down only menu of the features the printer is able to perform. Only one menu item is accessible at a time. These menu items will provide the user with information regarding the job status and level of supplies. Supply gauges are located on the LCD screen which will indicate the amount of toner left in the cartridges, a flashing light will also notify the user of the printer if there is a paper jam within the printer, if the paper has run out or of any other attention that the printer may require.
The printer has a paper drawer which can be found at the bottom of the printer, this drawer can hold 250 sheets of paper. Owners of this style of printer are able to purchase a second drawer that can hold another 250 pages of paper if required. Another feature of the printer is the auxiliary tray that is able to hold envelopes or photo paper in a single sheet bypass slot.
When the HP Q6001A and imaging drums require changing due to low toner levels the front of the printer opens outwards with the use of hinges. To make changing the toner easier and to have minimal mess, handles are on the toner cartridges for ease of replacing. The printer has gone through many speed printing tests, the average has been concluded at seven pages per minute for black text printing and six pages per minute for color text and graphic printing. These are suitable printing speeds for home and small office.
The printer has good speed. Black text printing is available at 7 pages per minute and color printing at around 6 pages per minute. These printing times are a good speed for a home office, but may not be for a larger office with over six staff. This laser printer is able to print high quality crisp black text, clean letters along with grayscale graphics and good detail on photos. Color graphics may not come out as clear as the colors may mix due to the printing process.
As the printer is a laser jet printer, color graphics may mix during the printing process, the printer does print good quality black text and good quality photos. A standard black cartridge will last approximately 2,500 pages of printing and a standard color cartridge approximately 2,000 printed pages.
Some features of the printer include the print resolution, print quality in black, white and color is rated at HP ImageREt 2400. The printer is compatible with Microsoft Office from 98 up to XP Professional and Mac Operating Systems from version 10.2 and up.
The 2600n is an ultra-quiet, easy, affordable and network-ready printer that can be used to complete the printing requirements for any home or small office. The HP Q6002A puts out quality prints, as one would expect from HP toner. Online vendors offer toner at great prices.
