How To Keep In Shape While Keeping Your Office Job

Working 9 to 5 may rob you of time to hit the gym and get in shape. Whether you're typing on a spreadsheet or making investment in stocks reports, your waistline can greatly suffer in time. However, there's no reason to say 'bye bye' to a trim body. The following are a few simple ways to get some work out while at work.

Be mindful of where you eat, other than keeping an eye on what you eat. Instead of eating at the office canteen, get out and walk for a few blocks. Look for a restaurant that serves healthy meal choices. Packing your own lunch? Get out still and take it to a public park. If everything else fails, have lunch with a health-conscious colleague.

Don't find the closest and most convenient parking space, but look for one that's farthest away. Brisk walk the rest of the way to use up a few calories. If possible, use the bike instead of the car, if the weather's fine. Ditch the elevator in going up to your floor. Instead, take the stairs to give your lower body some working out.

Don't sit in front of your computer workstation desk all day long. Take quick breaks, but don't visit social networking sites or play games on the net. Take a quick walk around the office or the perimeter of the building. Walk to a co-worker's desk and have a quick chat. Look for reasons to remain active, like volunteering to make document photocopies.

In line with your image editing or stock trading strategies, do strategies that enable you to keep fit while working. Replace your office chair with a huge medicine ball once in a while. This is great for keeping your abdominals tight. Put on running shoes to enable you to move quicker. Target everything (water dispenser, toilet, etc.) that's farthest from you to force you to walk.

Lock the door every now and then, if you got your own private office. Then perform some quick workout routines. Push ups are excellent for the arms and chest. Leg lifts help in keeping abdominal flab at bay. Lunges are great for tightening your thighs and buttocks. You may even bring dumbbells to your office for performing biceps curls.

Finally, you can encourage the company to have a few fitness or wellness programs. Volunteer to register your company for running or sporting events. Or you may ask for the company if they can reimburse workers with subscription to fitness gyms or clubs. By finding ways to get fit, maintaining a great shape isn't at all that difficult while at work.
